Karel Cool is a professor of strategy and the BP chaired professor of European competitiveness at INSEAD. He is also director of the competitive strategy executive education program and co-director of the new business sustainability program. His research, teaching and consulting focus on competitive strategy questions of industry dynamics and competitive positioning in addition to sustainability as a business opportunity.
Published in many prestigious journals, Karel has also contributed to many books on competitive strategy. He has also consulted on major strategic issues of corporate and industry restructuring for many of the world’s top multinational organisations.
Karel has a PhD and MScIA from Purdue University, and his MA and Lic in applied economics from the University of Antwerp (UFSIA).
